later, humans lived in it.
later again, YOU and ME began to live in it, since then we've been surfing on a wave or sitting around or working or thinking or whatevever it was that we did to fill up the time between then and now. In all that time, we made little decisions and big decisions, maybe avoided decisions etc -in all the cases we had to decide between choices based on a bit of data in front of us and data in our memories.
We wanted to know, what was the best thing to do?
That is the thing I have been thinking about!
I hope some part of this inspires you or helps you or illuminates something to you or someone you know, helping you and them make decisions or just enjoy things -that's an important half of the coin for everyone: being rational is a way to get or plan for getting. . . . enjoyment? the good life, the grace of god, eternal bliss, just to be in the moment, dig shins, poker, beer and cigarettes, Transcendental Peace, something
enjoyment and a good place in society? "good government", "economic growth", how can we get this? these golden goals? Are there any problematic ideas embedded in the phrases we use to sum up our goals?
where is the enjoyment for me and you in 'good government', or 'the grace of god'? its there, but takes time to see, and each human starts from scratch the day she or he becomes conscious. here is my best effort and life's work so-far on how to teach myself and others ways to see goodness, enjoyment, sustainably, democratically, universally, etc.

Bio-macrocosmically (all of us are born in a set of conditions), there is always a mix of things an individual must use for sustaining the world's systems and finding happiness.
a bit of dependency:
-on others,
-on things made by others (that are not so associated with the labour that produced them to warrant inclusion in the first category),
-and on self and what the self has made.
a mix between socializing and individualism – transcendence and isolation are BOTH part of it, no one single thing, not just The Self or The State, not simply The Other, not simply The Church, not simply The Beginning The Middle or The End. It is inherently the mixing of things that brings us to moments and extended moments of happiness. Release from one into freedom, into accepance in another, or any kind of movement as long as its involved with providing us with food and health, mental stability, and moral stability.
The test of different systems is the test of time and space: what will last the longest? what will reach the most people and be the best use of resources? what is the best thing that I can be doing with my time, my working hours, my imagination? It is never going to be a slave chained to one single thing, always a mix, and changing and evolving the more I observe and the more the world changes. This is the inherent test of our experience of the universe, to continue to have hapiness, and continue to re-design and reinterpret lovingly the things in the world (Constant Revolution).
Big Old Goal: To imagine systems that help people interact with production in a pleasurable way that utilizes the potential of the world!
-many people have taken stabs at this so far, but have always seen over time that they didnt haev the final answer, only a good guess given their current abilities and resources: Socialism had a glorious dream but its manifestations didnt continually motivate the individual to work in the machine; Capitalism had a glorious dream but still doesnt quite do everything. It has great things going for it in terms of historically producing many happy people, good science, and exciting culture, but just look at the social unrest, the inequality and poverty and resulting crime and lack of education that 'freedom' gives in some areas, the undignified fights on the internet, wasting money and human time on a rediculous level fo luxury for small groups or individuals, gender roles, religious and social trauma for teens who speak their mind or excercise their freedom to dream and question the old, the draconic dominance of business, morbid murder on TV every night and needless death on the freeway every DAY, is this utopia yet?)
this is our highest goal, to find a system like this that is as long-lasting and universal as possible, for the good of everyone, but we don’t yet collectively realize it, other preoccupations are using up our time. We don't yet see a light that shines bright enough that we are all really on board. There are fights left to fight, and an argument (a debate) is the best thing we've got to figure it out using our greatest power: mental faculties with the undying ability to learn more. Every human is BORN with a brain lookign to learn, to process data, form ideas and look at others. Its the greatest waste of resources on the planet to not be putting mroe effort into cultivating more brains, and cultivating them ALOT, for imagination and skills are things created by experience: it is our best rational course to increase the accessibility and social rewards for having those wonderful learning experiences that we are hopeless as a society without.
-A real debate must always start with first principles, the core supports, the things that make something true or not, strong or flimsy. What do we all WANT out of the thing we're making?
the inner goal is calmness, happiness, 'inner peace', the ability to see the world and be fine with it, not feeling that it will consume you or that you will go insane in prolonged contact with it or in a sudden explosive incident.
humans want the good, they want the good. what is in creation are what they look to to write up their plans for time investment, or simply see it and enjoy or simply see. they can pick their meaning and goal.
buddhism and islam prove that humans can be happy with almost no material possession -staring at the ground or at fellow humans is enough to gain the happiness and solidarity we all seek, if we are prepared to be happy and encouraged to find something beautiful in that natural landscape.
all of creation is, in fact, our collective muse
why can dirt be a source of happiness to look upon? because it is part of the universe, it is reality. reality is and always has been the source of our happiness everything we desire is necessarily part of reality, albeit it may be something in our imagination, that doesn't have a solid signifier and physical representation yet. that bit of mystery is always going to be there, The Future will not stop coming to us and The Past will never stop being interpreted -the mindmatter of thought is on the future and the past -the experience of reality is in the present.
is transcendence our only true goal?
in a way transcendence is always unreachable but also inherently felt even in the present. the future will not stop coming to us, but the past will not stop supporting the way we live. the transcendence moments of past times are built up around us cradling us, sometimes poisoning us but its all a matter of interpretation -only mental power touches it and transforms it into something positive or negative. only a thought about SEEing or PLANing categorizes a neutral memory as good or bad, useful or not useful -good fro my happiness or bad for my happiness in the present and in the future. this is the true definition for good and bad: desirable and undesirable.
the meaning of life is the good.
though the interesting part of the definition is 'why do i sometimes enjoy the things that are bad? i enjoy my pain and my sickness, they sometimes just feel great to experience, or make me thankful for what i have or give me a clear goal to become stronger, so why do i enjoy the bad if 'the good' is the total meaning of life?'
this is a very important rabbit hole, desire for privacy and isolation to get rest relaxation time-to-think and pleasure from yourself is a valid goal. its off the books because others dont see it and cant always value it, thats the nature of your inner self and time spent alone, its not inherently bad, but it is one of those things: a war with the persisting outside universe to get credit or acceptance for something that was completely valid and good but was denigrated and de-valued or over-valued, obsessed over by others, used as 'evidence', used to create fear, or used to create false ego or false praise of yourself (all bad things, sometimes resembling good or at least resembling improvement from a lowly state to a more comfortable one, jsut not necessarily a full true path).
words are only inventions of earth, they exist within reality and can only refer to things inside reality, and are therefore subject to the illusions of reality -therefore the word 'good' can only sometimes mean good, sometimes when it is said it refers to bad things or confusing things.

-Maya is the idea that the world is illusion, but that there is a path of correct action to swim through it, your Self can 'follow its nose' essentially and find the actions and thoughts it needs to do adn acquire, unless it is under particularily heavy waves of Maya. Even underneath those shadows the way out is always through a connection to goodness, the moon or north star visible through the clouds in a small opening. Its the tragic quality of the world that these stars become hard to see amongst the muck and confusion of continued existance. For centuries Buddhism has claimed the same basic idea, but their terminology is more like a statement of original sin or poisoned-ness: Life is hell, Desire is pain!
take the example of a painful illusion: "war is good." War is indeed good for non-universal small group of humans: a businessperson of war like an employee of GE who manufactures missiles tanks and jets and their guidance systems, Boeing who manufactures and engineers missiles and jets and other experimental steel and carbon fiber, Exxon who sells oil even when the person driving the car is in pain, etc.
-to them, bad is good and good is bad. repeal of war would be the end of two of the largest companies on earth -but even though it is off the balance sheet, they cannot top the largest company on earth: humanity's combined moral good.
the reason they are not being trumped by the highest power? because humanity's moral good is scattered, hiding or confused, the NEVER-ENDING process of educating its new members and up-keeping its buildings and sofas, cooking and growing its food, all this has been a burden fro all of eternity so far. for many it is their greatest fear adn rightly so, it was the source of all their troubles: the lack of resources.
in such a state as we aere though, if each person were to look at their neighbor and give up some of their luxury to aid someone they haev never met and don't depend on, they might make the moral decision and do it anyway out of goodwill. what if the thing to give up was really needed though, the neighbors need it to survive, stay hip, stay healthy and happy and sustain their meaning of life?! it would be irrational to give this up woudlnt it? Yes, until a larger bubble of people is making the decision. On a small level, its easy to find a solution, and very easy to forget especially when the negative consequences are outsourced(labour) and exported(waste removal) to ANOTHER CONTINENT YOU DON’T THINK YOU DEPEND ON, or at least certainly wont be visiting soon.
here is the most interesting part though. its a new kind of happiness never been had yet,
its a business proposition and a call to a higher level of ration: total group enlightenment!
with over 6 billion people, if all of us or msot of us worked on a farming colony for 2 or 4 hours a week instead of piling it all on the farming class, we would be swimming in food and culture. we would "have enough" EASILY. we would satisfy one of our universal greatest fear: future resources. this is irrefutable fact!!! if we all made food, we would all have food.
now lets say 4 hours a week we all assembled some technology components, instead of piling it on chinese slave-wage factories and other literal-slavery situations in india africa and south asia, INSTEAD OF THAT, we would be swimming in technology and culture.
there are so damn many humans! the next most important project of EARTH, I now decree- To imagine systems that help people interact with production in a pleasurable way that utilizes the potential of the world! Truly the human imagination is the force and wondrous potential we must unleash and use to interpret and design the earth! Not legal papers or money, these are symbols, but the real root is always the imagination spent with effort and with patience: enough time to think and understand our actions and our goals and live rationally with them in mind, the way we choose.
the first example of this i thought of a while ago is a a powerplant turbine powered by a huge row of bicycles -with the wheel connected to a transmission that helps turn the turbine. think of this, humans turning a turbine with their body weight and muscle effort, sweating, enjoying themselves, building muscle and etc, picking their own speed. the best part is they dont even have to do it, it is optional for the individual. anyone can choose solitude or freedom when they want, or come to work whenever they want. by nature of the egalitarian 24 hour approach, enough people will do it that it will just work.
-they will get paid based on timecarding in and out, still giving a sense of accomplishment and freedom.
-Though the grand human machine image is a bit socialist, the gym of personal beautification is definitely a gemm being shined by capitalism, peopel realize the gym, so why not kick it up a notch like this?
the second is user-generated content for culture and the internet. if someone makes something funny and interesting, others will see it and it will get used, it will collectively help us all in our meaning of life: a bit of excitement and enlightenment for the afternoon people have been doing this spontaneously for centuries, and now some even do it for money through tv, books, comics, live music and comedy, recorded music and comedy and dramas etc.
-BLOGS with hit-based advertizing are already doing this with an acceptable timecard type of wage.
-a blog is like a wind-powerplant and also like a museum or a concert, it may not always be active, it may seem like a long-shot, but when they are all spinning in the wind together in a green field, creating their free electricity together, that is just a beautiful thing undeniably

-this split of duties is the total task of our moral duties and rational investment decision-making. this is the world, period! it may seem simplistic, but a glorious statement is best made when it builds only from irrefutably true(good) elements. if some part of the tree is incorrect(bad), it will send out a bad airwave, and because of the illusory nature of the universe, it may be very hard to find out if its bad or not. the solution is:
patience
observation with the goal of appreciation
fun and excitement in our lives will help us maintain these virtues, patience and appreciation are reflecting and multiplying activities, the more you extend them the more others will be inspired to return them, as long as the benefit of returning it is communicated, as long as that mental connection is made in the people around you. Once the patience and appreciation flows, the self-doubt and paralysis dissappears. Once that new state produces happiness and some productivity to go to the bicycle turbine and farm ranch in the afternoon or evening or morning, whenever you feel like it, your happiness will have been transformed into more resources: more happiness, more used potential, a greater and accelerating ability to practice patience and appreciation and inspire others! the universe is truly acclerating! I bet you the giant turbine thing (or some much better idea written by an engineer and teams of scientists) will exist, it will come across the news like a storm and signal that we have completed the energy struggle, entering the Energy Epoch. WITH THIS ENERGY WE WILL CREATE LIGHTNING BOLTS OF TRUTH HAPPINESS, TRUTH BOLTS SURGING THROUGH THE GROUND AND INTO OUR FEET AND OUR HEARTS, OUR MINDS AND SOULS BEING RECIPIENTS OF A NEW LEVEL OF RELAXATION AND INVIGORATION!!! It can only spread and do good if it is truly full-truth Truth Electricity!
